Ms. Tobin leads a business channel responsible for helping Registered Investment Advisors, independent broker-dealers and their advisors deliver clearing, custody and execution services through tailored access to RBC Wealth Management’s sophisticated wealth management and brokerage platform.
Previously, she served as head of business development of the private client group, responsible for helping RBC Wealth Management financial advisors serve the needs of their clients. She has also served as wealth management consulting director, led the Edina complex and was director of Private Client Services. Before joining the firm in 1992, she was vice president at Citicorp Investment Services in Edina, MN, vice president at Citibank in New York City, and communications manager at Citibank in Sioux Falls, SD.
Involved in many aspects of the financial services industry, she has chaired the Securities Industry Association’s Investor Education Committee and served as a member of the Public Trust & Confidence Committee. She also completed the Securities Industry Institute at Wharton and has attended the Wharton/SIA Branch Management Leadership Institute. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
Ms. Tobin currently serves as committee chairman for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award Committee, an award given to the top men’s collegiate hockey player in the United States. She is also a past board member of the Minnesota Opera. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, travel, entertaining and spending time with her two teenage children.
