Women Financial Advisors "Dare to Soar" at RBC Wealth Management's Annual Conference

MINNEAPOLIS (September 16, 2013) – For the 21st year, women advisors of RBC Wealth Management (RBC WM) will gather in Minneapolis for the firm’s annual Women’s Association of Financial Advisors (WAFA) conference. This year’s theme, “Dare to Soar,” will challenge the advisors to advance their quest to “Plan For Your Best Year Ever,” the theme of the 2012 conference. More than 150 women financial advisors and private bankers from across the United States will attend this conference to be held September 16-18, 2013, at the downtown Minneapolis Radisson hotel.

The company sponsors the annual women’s conference to assist the participants in growing their business. The agenda is designed to include presentations from experts in sales, marketing and new products. In addition to learning new business-building techniques, the attendees are able to network with their peers, share ideas and create long-lasting professional relationships. Production reports have shown that advisors attending the conference realize an increase in productivity after implementing the ideas and strategies learned.

“Supporting women to achieve greater business success at RBC Wealth Management and within the financial industry has long been a focus for the firm and the WAFA conference is one example of that,” said Kristen Kimmell, head, Business Administration and co-executive sponsor of WAFA. “This conference is an excellent forum for women in client-facing roles to share ideas and learn from their peers.”

RBC Wealth Management-U.S. is committed to enriching the communities where employees and clients live and work. Each year, WAFA conference attendees donate resources to local nonprofit organizations focused on improving the lives of community members. This year, attendees will compete in a food pack build that will benefit Second Harvest Heartland. In lieu of prizes, the RBC Foundation will donate $1,000 to the organization on behalf of each winner.

Since 1991, when WAFA was formed, RBC Wealth Management-U.S. has been an industry leader with its history of cultivating an environment that supports women. Today, there are more than 200 financial advisors who are active members of the WAFA.
