Mary Zimmer
Head, Primary Advisor Services

Mary Zimmer is head of Primary Advisor Services for RBC Wealth Management and a member of the RBC Wealth Management Executive Committee. She is responsible for heading up the firm's business model and product groups, as well as partnering with RBC Capital Markets on product development and distribution. Prior to being named to this position, Ms. Zimmer served as the chief operating officer for RBC Wealth Management from September 2005 to April 2006.

Ms. Zimmer began working at RBC Wealth Management in 1994 and has held a number of positions within the firm, including chief administrative officer, and director of Global Equity Finance and Administration at RBC Capital Markets.

Deeply involved in growing diversity initiatives throughout RBC Wealth Management, Ms. Zimmer is the executive sponsor of both the firm's Diversity Leadership Council and Women's Association of Financial Consultants. Additionally, she is leading RBC's efforts to enhance diversity among employees, particularly among client-facing teams globally. She also co-leads RBC's Women and Visible Minorities strategy team, which works to increase the representation of women and visible minorities in leadership roles throughout the entire RBC organization.

Ms. Zimmer was recently named to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Foundation Board of Directors. As part of this appointment, she will also serve as a member of the SIFMA Foundation Board Marketing and Public Relations Committee.

Ms. Zimmer has served on the board of directors of the Minneapolis Crisis Nursery since 2005, taking on several leadership roles in the organization including vice-chair, treasurer, finance committee chair and major gifts committee chair. In addition, she helped create a mentoring program with the University of St. Thomas women's basketball program in 2008.

Ms. Zimmer has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and a master's degree in taxation from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She also is a certified public accountant.
